What To Expect
Visiting a church can be intimidating, especially if you don't know what to expect. At Pelham Church of God, you can expect warm and welcoming people, sincere worship and praise, and engaging preaching from the Scripture. We hope you will be encouraged, perhaps even challenged. But most of all, we hope you have an encounter with Jesus Christ.
Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 AM. Once you arrive, you will be greeted at the door by a member of our Greeters Team. They will show you around and answer any questions you might have.
We encourage you to visit our Welcome Desk in the foyer. While there, you will receive a small gift as a sign of our appreciation for your visit! It is at the Welcome Desk you will receive a bulletin and a “Connection Card.” Please take the time to fill out the “Connection Card” and drop it in the offering plate or give it to one of our greeters. This card is useful if you have questions, prayer requests, or if you would like to get more involved in ministries at Pelham. This way, we can follow-up with you, offering you some next steps to take toward better investing in Pelham Church of God.
Our nursery and children’s check-in stations open at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesdays. If you have young children with you, please ask to meet with our check-in coordinator. They hey will help check your children into either the Nursery or our Children's Church. While in childcare, your children will be ministered to by our team of volunteers, all of whom have been trained and screened.
Our worship style is a combination of contemporary and traditional. On a given Sunday morning, you can sing traditional and modern hymns, and witness a diversity of people all praising God. Our praise and worship team provides joyful, passionate, Pentecostal music that allows you to express your heart to God. Praise and worship can be the perfect time to open your heart to the Holy Spirit and listen to His promptings as He moves you to worship the Lord individually, as well as collectively.
Every week, Pastor Michael Welborn, delivers a message, sharing the heart of God through Scripture. Preaching at Pelham generally focuses on explaining a given text in a clear, understandable way, while applying its truths to our daily lives. But most importantly, we preach Jesus Christ crucified, believing that all the Bible testifies to the work He has done and continues to do in His Kingdom.
